Rocky Point Music Ministry

The Music Ministry at Rocky Point exists for two main purposes. First, we feel a strong calling to lead the church in true worship through song. This leadership trickles down off of the stage and into our daily lives. If we are leading with integrity, then our actions should match the words we sing and the songs we play. Secondly, as we lead, we are about training others by giving them the resources, confidence and encouragement they need to lead effectively in their specific area. The Music Ministry Team is just that…a team. Everyone from the instrumentalists to the singers to the people running the video and sound is an integral part in leading and facilitating the worship of our God and King, Jesus Christ.

Adult Choir

Our choir is unique…as are most things at Rocky Point. Week to week we spend the majority of our time rehearsing the music for Sunday Morning. It is stressed to our choir that they are leading the congregation in worship as they sing…people are watching, listening, and interacting with them. A choir is much more than a spectacle on Sunday mornings…they are an extension of the congregation, and as they worship, they encourage the church at large to do likewise.

Band

Instruments add a very personal, unique touch to a church’s worship style. Our band reflects the wide variety of styles that we all come from: folk, country, rock, blues, classical, contemporary, etc. The list goes on, and as we grow, so does the style of our worship. David gave many stylistic examples in the Psalms – harp, cymbals, lyre, trumpets, etc. Our prayer as a band is that our music is relevant to the heart of our church, and something that has their feet tapping and hands clapping throughout the week.
